Children Advocacy Center (CAC)
Our CAC provides an age appropriate and secure environment for child disclosures of sexual and physical abuse. Trained, professional staff work with the child so he/she may tell their story. The CAC coordinates multi-disciplined team efforts in the investigation and prosecution of child sex and physical abuse cases. The CAC also works to provide or refer important follow-up services, such as counseling, for the child and other resources for non-offending family members.
The CAC is a community of caring people coming together to bring hope back to child victims of sexual and physical abuse. In 2010, CACs located throughout Louisiana provided services to over 4,000 children.
Project Celebration CAC Program Director is a trained Child Forensic Interviewer and the center itself is a developing member of the National Children's Alliance (NCA) and Children's Advocacy Centers of Louisiana (CACLA) and will be seeking accreditation in the near future from those agencies.
